New Hampshire FisherCats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are based in Manchester, New Hampshire. The team plays in the Eastern League. They are the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. They play home games a Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The Fisher Cats have two mascots. Fungo is a Ferocious Fun mascot. He’s the Sultan of Silly. He’s the Splendid Side-Splitter. He is; Fungo the Fisher Cat!

Fungo (Right)  was born in the forests north of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Fungo left his woodland home in late 2003 to make a name for himself in the big city. After a long float down the Merrimack River, the yet-to-be-named bundle of brown fur arrived in Manchester wide-eyed and bushy tailed. His timing was fortuitous; a new baseball team in town had chosen the name “Fisher Cats” and needed a mascot. One visit to historic Gill Stadium later and the Queen City had its cat.

When he’s not making the fun “go” at the Stadium, you can watch Fungo on the banks of the Merrimack. He casts his line, soaking up the sun (in the summer), tobogganing in the White Mountains. Once winter arrives, Fungo retires to his workshop to start dreaming up new ways to entertain and inspire his friends and fans. He is believes a hot dog is a sandwich.

Slider (Left) believes every superhero needs a sidekick, a peanut butter and jelly and every cookie a glass of milk. Slider is Fungo’s second cousin twice removed and the resident mischief-maker at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Slider’s tale begins where few fisher cats have ever been spotted: Dunedin, Florida. Decades ago, the sun, sand and large population of retirees (so many buffets!) enticed a small band of fisher cats south for the winter and they never left. Slider was birthed into this brood sometime after the turn of the millennium. The abundance of food and warm weather left ample time for the youngster to fill with pranks, gags and general tomfoolery, unknowingly honing the skills that would turn him into the Eastern League’s furriest foil.

Off the field, Slider can be found in the gym sculpting his impressive figure, reading Eastern philosophy or indoor underwater basket weaving.

Striker is the Florida Fire Frogs mascot. The Frogs are a member of the Florida State League in Kissimmee, Florida, part of the Greater Orlando metropolitan area. Founded in 2017, the team is an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. They play their home games at Osceola County Stadium. Striker the Fire Frog has served as the mascot for the Florida Fire Frog, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves located in Central Florida, since 2017.
