“Louie The LumberKing” is the mascot of The Clinton LumberKings. located in Clinton, Iowa. They are a member of the Midwest League. The Kings are an affiliate of the Miami Marlins. They play their home games at Ashford University Field.
Louie the LumberKing returns for his 25th season of Midwest League baseball in 2018 as the mascot for the Clinton LumberKings. Louie was first-round pick by the Kings in the '94 Mascot Entry Draft out of Paul Bunyan University. Louie was proclaimed the "King of Midwest League Mascots" by popular fan vote in MSNBC's Minor League Logo contest in 2008 thanks to his newly-grown goatee and brand new gold crown.
The son of Norwegian immigrants Olaf and Helga, Louie starred as the mascot for the PBU Log Jammers baseball team after seeing his baseball playing career shortened by a freak splinter accident. Louie went on to get a bachelor's degree in Crowd Entertainment at PBU in '94 and just recently graduated from the school's online Masters program in Advanced Mascot Theory.
