Portland Sea Dogs

The Portland Sea Dogs are the Double-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and are a member of the Eastern League. The team is located in Portland, Maine and they play at Hadlock Field.

Slugger is the mascot for the Portland Sea Dogs. He is the Director of Crowd Entertainment and is baseball's hardest working mascot. Slugger has entertained more than 9 million fans since his arrival at Hadlock Field on May 7, 1994.

When he's not busy entertaining the crowd during the ballgame, Slugger can often be found parading around the streets of Portland, Maine, visiting his friends at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, and playing baseball with school-aged kids. On top of entertaining fans at the Sea Dogs 70 home games, Slugger makes over 200 community appearances each year.

Slugger has recently gained national attention and is one of the most followed mascots in the MiLB on social media. He adds a special element to every Portland Sea Dogs game with skits that include dancing, flips, stunts, and interactions with the umpires.

Slugger has been featured on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10, MLB Network, and Inside Edition. In 2018, Slugger was a finalist for the MiLB “On-Field Promotion of the Year,” and also received honorable mention for “Mascot of the Year” by Gameops.com.
