The Modesto Nuts are located in Modesto, California. They are in the California League and are an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Professional baseball in Modesto started in 1946. The Modesto Nuts play home games at John Thurman Field. The park seats 4,000.

In 1946, a beautiful seed blew into John Thurman Field and grew into a gorgeous nut tree. From this tree many nuts fell. But in 2005 two lucky nuts burst out of their shells and are now known as Al and Wally. Al is the older more mature brother. However, in the right crowd he has been known to liven up any party mix. Wally is the known prankster of the family, always getting into nutty situations.

Almost ten years after the Modesto Nuts were blessed with Al and Wally a new member of the family came cracking in. Shelley came in from the farm, tired of the country life she sought adventure with the Modesto Nuts Baseball team. Her sassy personality and warm heart was exactly what the two brothers needed in their life.

Now the trio go out into the community. Spreading baseball cheer and helping out with the nuts and bolts of the community.
