Harrisburg Senators

Rascal is the mascot for The Harrisburg Senators. They are in Eastern League and are an affiliate of the Washington Nationals. They play at FNB Field.

Rascal has been the mascot for the Harrisburg Senators for nearly 2 decades. He is a friendly river monster that calls FNB Field home and travels throughout the Harrisburg capital region to participate in community events and bring the fun of Senators baseball to kids of all ages.

Several summers ago, a mysterious crate washed up on the shore of City Island in the Susquehanna river, home of the Harrisburg Senators. No one knew what was in the crate, so the Senators called in scientists to verify there was nothing dangerous. Once it was determined to be safe, the crate was opened and out came a large blue and red creature no one could quite identify.

But he was gentle and friendly, so the Senators gave him a game jersey and welcomed him into the stadium and gave him a place to live. Thus Rascal became the mascot for the Harrisburg Senators.

Rascal’s favorite thing is kids. He loves to play with them and lead them in cheering on the Senators. You can often see him leading parades around the warning track at FNB Field before games. He is friends with many of the other company mascots in Central PA and they come to celebrate his birthday with him each season where they share cake and eat hot dogs – Rascal’s favorite food.
He likes to eat Spot Dogs (The Spot is a long time Harrisburg hot dog restaurant that now exists only at FNB Field during Senators baseball season).

Rascal’s favorite Washington National is Ryan Zimmerman.
