The Cedar Rapids Kernels are based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The team is affiliated with the Minnesota Twins and plays in the Midwest League. Home games are in Veterans Memorial Stadium.

In April of 1994 Mr. Shucks was plucked from the crop to represent the Kernels as their beloved mascot. Now in his 25th season with the Kernels, Mr. Shucks continues to spread joy across Eastern Iowa at fairs, charity events and local elementary schools promoting the Kernels Summer Reading Program. The big corny fella loves making new friends while cheering on the Kernels at Veterans Memorial Stadium so the next time you see him don’t be shy, give him a big high-five!

Mr. Shucks has a great sense of humor. He thinks its funny when the other team makes errors and when people mistake him for the most handsome guy in the universe. He loves putting on skits and playing games at schools for the Kernels Summer Reading Program.
