The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are a member of the Carolina League and are an affiliate of the Houston Astros. They are located in Fayetteville, North Carolina and play at Segra Stadium.
Bunker is the Mascot of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, the Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Houston Astros!
Bunker has built his nest at Segra Stadium, right in the heart of downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina & minutes away from the world’s largest military installation: Fort Bragg.
His favorite hobbies are pecking trees, reading his favorite book “The Owl and the Woodpecker” by Brian Wildsmith, playing baseball, & dancing (especially the Cupid Shuffle and Flossing!). Bunker’s favorite food is the sunflower seeds his Woodpeckers team mates throw for him to eat from the home dugout during games.
Bunker’s favorite Houston Astros player is the 3rd Baseman & Short Stop, Alex Bregman.
Fun Facts:
Bunker was named after a very important leader of the 82nd Airborne Division, General Matthew Bunker Ridgeway, who led the United States to victory in World War II. Go Woodpeckers!
Favorite Quote: “Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” -Babe Ruth
