Ballapeño is the mascot for the San Antonio Missions located in San Antonio, Texas. They are a member of the Pacific Coast League. They are an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The team is named for The Alamo, originally a Spanish mission located in San Antonio. They play at the Arena/Stadium: Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.
Ballapeño sprouted in center field in the spring of 2001 and has been a part of the San Antonio Missions family ever since. Every night Ballapeño makes his grand appearance in the middle of the 1st inning to help pump up the crowd and cheer the Missions to another victory.
Ballapeño has been rumored to specifically pick the Taco Chaser every evening and unconfirmed reports have spotted him laughing in the dugout as “Henry” bites the dust night after night. It is well known that Ballapeño is green with envy over the popularity of Henry the Puffy Taco and has made it his goal to appear on the next Survivor to prove he has what it takes.
Ballapeño can be seen at Little League Opening Ceremonies during the spring as well as Boy Scout round tables and various other charity events.
