Buddy Bat is the mascot of the Louisville Bats based in Louisville, Kentucky. They play in the International League and are an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The Bats play their home games at Louisville Slugger Field.

Buddy Bat has been entertaining fans at Louisville Slugger Field since the ballpark opened in 2000. In June 2012, he became a YouTube sensation after skydiving with the US Army Golden Knights. His favorite activities are baseball, doing handstands & racing in the Buddy Bat Derby. He 6’8” tall and was born in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky.

In the Buddy Bat Derby, Buddy Bat races a kid in the Louisville Slugger Field crowd, and whether it's an obstacle in his path, an unforeseen form of interference OR one of Buddy's famous hamstring pulls, he usually finds a way to lose the race.

Buddy loves doing handstands, plays catch, playfully teasing his friends, dancing and reading his favorite book, that he wrote himself, “A Different Kind of Buddy” that was released in 2013.
