Peoria Chiefs

Homer is the mascot for the Peoria Chiefs. They play in the Midwest League and are an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Chiefs are located in Peoria, Illinois. They are named for the Peoria Indian tribe for which the city was named. The team plays its home games at Dozer Park which opened in 2002. 

Homer was born in the localfirehouse in Peoria in August 2004. He is 7 feet 3 inches tall. He started as the Chiefs mascot in 2005 . He has been with the Chiefs for 13 years. He lives in Dozr Park. Homer's favorite team is the Kansas City Chiefs. He sometimes gets them confused with us.

Baseball is his favorite sport because he can fetch and steal all of the players bats during or after the games. His favorite player is Greg (Mad Dog” Maddux who played with the Chiefs. He is in the Hall of Fame. Homer is very vocal about his love of treats, wooden bats and belly rubs. He dislikes umpires. His favorite song is his entrance song to the stadium, “Who Let the Dogs Out”.

He works with several charities, but you'll find him once a month at the OSF Children's Hospital giving out hugs and baseballs to kids and bringing some of his friends from the team. His favorite stadium is Busch Stadium in St. Louis.He is friends with Marshal from the kids show PawPatrol. He sometimes covers for him because they they look alike.

Homer likes relaxing in the office and taking naps, his favorite hobby. He loves to race all of the fans and dancing with the kids. He is an expert at dancing the Floss.

Last book he ate: The Hungry Caterpillar.
