SouthPaw is the mascot of The Tri-City ValleyCats based in Troy, New York. They were the 2010 and 2013 champions of the New York–Penn League. The ValleyCats are an affiliate of the Houston Astros They play their home game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

SouthPaw has been a resident of Troy, New York since he was a tiny kitten in 2002. He loves his hometown, and most importantly, the Tri-City ValleyCats!

After the winter is over and the weather starts to get warmer, SouthPaw begins to get excited, because he knows the beginning of baseball season is near! During each ValleyCats home game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, SouthPaw is thrilled to add his excitement and energy to the already enthusiastic packed crowds!

When he's not having fun at "The Joe," SouthPaw is usually out and about in the Capital Region community! He keeps a full schedule all year long, making hundreds of appearances around the Albany area to schools, libraries, community events, fundraisers, sporting events, concerts, fairs, and more!

SouthPaw was born in 2002 along the Hudson River in upstate New York, and found his home with the ValleyCats in Troy. He celebrates his birthday each June, although the exact date is unknown. He loves kids, fireworks, hot dogs, hanging with this little buddy "Ribbie" (the ValleyCats pig mascot), throwing t-shirts to fans, and more! His favorite movie is "The Sandlot", although he is deathly scared of The Beast! Generally though, SouthPaw gets along great with dogs!

He currently stands at 6' 1" tall, and weight about 190 pounds. His favorite songs are anything played at the ballpark, but two of his absolute faves are "Boneless" by Steve Aoki (his walk-out song), and "Crazy Frog" by Axel F!

Aside from spending time at the ballpark, he loves nothing more than to be out in the community engaging with ValleyCats fans!

SouthPaw loves to meet new friends, and looks forward to meeting YOU!"
