Durham Bulls
Wool E. Bull is the mascot for the Durham Bulls that play in the International League. They are located in the downtown area of Durham, North Carolina. The Bulls are the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. The Bulls play their home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park often called the "DBAP" or "D-Bap".
Wool E. Bull was born in July, 1992. He met his team and his community with that big goofy smile on his face. He quickly learned that his middle name, Education, had been selected from a pool of over 500 names. Over the years, Wool E. Bull grew to become a staple of the Durham Bulls Operation. His antics and dancing are known throughout the Triangle. People from all over the world come to see Wool E. dance, shoot t-shirts out of his Bright Leaf Hot Dog Launcher, throw softy baseballs to the crowd in his Go Kart, and dance on the field.
Wool E. arrived in Durham after the new owner, Jim Goodmon wanted a mascot for the team. Wool E.’s first day on the Job was April 7th, 1992 but at that time he didn’t have a name. It wasn’t until July 17th, 1992 that Wool E. was officially named Wool E. Bull. He lives at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. He has his own room with his own bed, TV and all his cool toys.
The “E.” in Wool E. Bull stands for education. Wool E. is proud to call Durham his home and proud to have the best fans in all of Minor League Baseball. His greatest baseball memory is winning 6 International League Governors’ Cup Championships.
If Wool E. weren’t a mascot, he would probably be grazing on some land in North Carolina.
